Retirement by Moran’s surprise aged care operator for proposed village

1 min read

Sally Taylor, Managing Director of Retirement by Moran, used the latest Westpac Conversation at the Wharf luncheon to outline the State Significant Development Application for Indigo by Moran at Narrabeen.

The plan covers the 9,234sqm former Wesley Taylor Village and residential aged care site, 23km north-east of the Sydney CBD, and is now on public exhibition for 14 days.

The proposal comprises 149 independent living units and 10 care suites designed for higher-acuity needs – and demand signals are strong.

“We have had 145 people or couples already asking to see the floor plans, which is very pleasing,” Sally noted.

Care for the suites will be delivered by Videri, formerly Group Homes Australia, founded by Tamar Krebs – the first partnership between the dementia home innovator and a village operator.

“We see this partnership as a fantastic model for our industry – it provides a great option to retirement village operators, like ourselves, who do not want to be care providers, to partner with those who do this extremely well,” Sally said.

Group Homes Australia rebranded as Videri earlier this year as it revealed plans to pursue more partnerships. At the 2024 LEADERS SUMMIT, Tamar said the operator is open to establishing its homes within retirement villages, delivering on-site services so residents can access care and support without leaving the community.
