The Villages commence UPS drone delivery of prescriptions

CVS, the largest chemist chain in America with 9,900 outlets, has extended its trials to deliver prescriptions by UPS drone, which commenced pre COVID-19.

This week they start delivering to The Villages, the world’s biggest retirement village with 110,000 residents, located in Florida.

The drone actually only travels a kilometre and delivers to a designated pickup area, where UPS staff pick up and deliver to the village home.

UPS was given the first national approval last year to use drones for delivery, but is being followed up by FedEx, Google and Amazon.
