Leading Australian architecture and design firm ThomsonAdsett has strengthened its seniors living team after hiring master architect Bruce Ratcliffe.

Mr Ratcliffe, who specialises in aged care and retirement living, was appointed Principal of Seniors Living for ThomsonAdsett in late 2020.

Previously the senior project lead in seniors living at the Melbourne-based CHT architects for seven years, Mr Ratcliffe has experience as principal in-house architect and senior project manager for major developers such as Becton, Stockland and specialist retirement and aged care provider, The Knowles Group (Arcare).

The company also announced its two principals, Chris Straw and David Lane, will be the firm’s first consulting partners, focusing on key strategic and advisory initiatives with client groups, organisational peak bodies and governments.

The pair will also be involved in mentoring emerging leaders in seniors’ living.

“I’m now looking forward to continuing to focus on providing a strategic resource to ThomsonAdsett as well as mentoring and passing on three decades of experience,” Mr Straw said.
