Tragic road accident reminds of calls for residents and staff counselling

Last Wednesday a mini bus carrying seven passengers and belonging to Ti Tree Lodge, the aged care facility arm of The Village Glen on the Mornington Peninsula, had a head-on collision with a vehicle that crossed three lanes.

Two residents were killed, one aged 88 died at the scene and a 91-year-old woman passed away the next day. All the other passengers had injuries from bruises to broken bones.

Five passengers were residents plus one staff member and one volunteer from The Village Glen. The residents were from the secure dementia unit and were taking a drive to the beach as part of their weekly outing.
