Uniting to build a 100-bed, four level care facility at Gerringong village – staff shortages possible

1 min read

Uniting is investing $20M to build a four level care facility at its existing Mayflower retirement village, and one of the prettiest locations in Sydney’s south coast, just south of Wollongong.

This facility will add to the two care facilities being built in Wollongong and Shellharbour by IRT and Warrigal, who are already competing to recruit staff with concerns there may not be enough supply.

Mark Sewell, CEO of Warrigal, spoke at our LEADERS SUMMIT stating workforce supply is the biggest challenge facing regional care operators, with the prospect of whole floors of new developments unable to open.
