Van explosion rocks retirement village

A stolen Mitsubishi Express van that may have been used in a ram raid in Albury was set alight and exploded at 4:20 AM last Thursday morning, knocking photos off walls of the adjacent retirement village and showering the community facility with pieces of metal.

One resident went to extinguish the fire with a garden hose but ran when he heard a hissing sound followed by the explosion. The bonnet of the vehicle flew 150M.
