The $48 million trial would pilot around-the-clock monitoring and more rehabilitation services in the home and community in a bid to keep people out of aged care with the rest of the funding being provided by Monash University and Peninsula Health.
If successful, Opposition health spokeswoman Catherine King says the model could potentially be rolled out across the country. Assisted living villages would benefit.
