Mystery cases remain an issue

Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton appeared at Premier Daniel Andrews' daily press briefing, who said he wasn’t pleased to see a double digit increase in new cases.

“Mystery cases are a challenge for that exact reason. They represent a chain of transmission. There are others out there who had the virus and may not be infectious any more, but they had been infectious,” he said.

“Sometimes we subsequently identify them and make the linkages back. The mystery case is no longer a mystery case. We do resolve cases that get initially flagged as mystery cases because we find the missing links.”
