Schiavello Construction SA has announced it has started building the 4000m/sq 72-bed Residential Aged Care facility, Romani, in the city of Murray Bridge, 78km east-southeast of Adelaide CBD, for RSL Care.

“With civil works commencing this week, we look forward to seeing this project being constructed across the next 15 months,” said Dale Sweeney, Schiavello’s Construction Director.

“The Romani facility is designed to take into account the risks associated with the various infections that are present in our general community (such as Coronavirus and Influenza). Every room in Romani will have its own private bathroom and there will be many small meeting spaces throughout the facility,” said RSL Care SA.

Romani, which is stated will cost $22 million, is the fourth RAC for the Not For profit organisation in South Australia. It is being built adjacent to RSL Care SA’s Waterford Estate retirement village.

Romani will employ approximately 80 staff when the facility opens in early 2023.
