Reside completes $50m transformation of Brookland Robertson

  • Major milestone: Final apartments sold in eight-year village transformation
  • Investment: $50m redevelopment delivered 92 new apartments and luxury amenities
  • Strong demand: Buyers drawn to connected, low-maintenance retirement living
  • Growth pipeline: Reside continues expansion across southeast Queensland

When Reside Communities acquired Brookland Robertson, a retirement village in Brisbane’s southeast in 2018, CEO Glen Brown had a vision for its future.

Eight years later, after a $50 million investment, all 92 apartments have now been sold.

The milestone marks the completion of a staged transformation by Reside Communities, redeveloping the established village while improving the amenities for more than 250 residents.

Reside Communities has built 92 apartments across two stages alongside a resort-style community centre.

The redevelopment began with the opening of The Waratah, which featured new residences and upgraded shared spaces.

This was followed by the final stage, The Banksia, which added a further 53 apartments and a suite of amenities, completing the village’s transformation.

Glen said welcoming the final residents was an important moment.

“Seeing the final residents move in is incredibly rewarding and reflects the strong demand for high-quality, well-located retirement communities,” he said.
“In creating Brookland Robertson we pulled out all the stops to meet the needs of local retirees, delivering a fresh, modern option for those looking to enjoy a more connected and low-maintenance lifestyle.
“This is not just a home but a lifestyle, one that promotes wellness, connection, and enjoyment in every aspect.”

Located less than 5km from Westfield Mount Gravatt and approximately 15km from the Brisbane CBD, Brookland Robertson now features a health club, indoor swimming pool, modern gym, bar and lounge, hair and beauty salon, cinema, library and outdoor recreation areas.

In recent years, Reside has also completed the expansion at its Samford Grove community, the first stage of the golf course community, Fairway Carindale, and the second stage of the waterfront community, Esperance Hope Island on the Gold Coast.

Construction is now underway on the next phases of these projects, as well as the redevelopment of its Sunshine Coast hinterland community, Maleny Grove.

“The overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from residents is a testament to the Reside team and the high quality of our communities, and we look forward to continuing to build on this legacy in the coming years,” Glen said.
