$5M Government funding to provide aged care beds to seniors in rural areas

1 min read

The Fed Government is to deliver up to 150 high needs, high quality rural aged care beds in its next round of funding.

'Multi-Purpose Service approved providers' are invited to apply for the funding, with the round open from 1 October 2019 to 12 November 2019.

Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians Richard Colbeck, said,

“In the past people in small towns had to leave their homes for this quality of care. Instead, these Multi-Purpose Service beds integrate health and aged care services by pooling Federal Government aged care funding and State Government health funding to deliver flexible care that best meets individual communities’ needs.”

Multi-Purpose Services are currently located in all states and the Northern Territory.

Find more information and the application form on the Department of Health website.
