WA’s Aegis Aged Care targets 50% growth over five years with Nutanix software deal

The private operator has signed an agreement with the NASDAQ-listed Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform to provide new software that will help staff to care for its 2,500 residents.

Aegis is WA’s largest provider with over 3,000 staff across 28 facilities – with four more under construction or in development.

They have already rolled out 400 tablets under the new care system, which is designed to help staff keep resident records up to date.

The platform has also freed up their three-person IT team to deal with other issues, while the physical size of the data centre has been cut by around 70%.

Aegis has doubled the size of its business in the last seven years, driven by WA’s shortage of available aged care beds and a growing ageing population.

Targeting recent figures showing that 868 acute hospital beds are needed every year to match the other states, the provider says they now hope to equal those numbers over the next five years.
