Within the Budget, income support for older people – namely the Age Pension – will cost the Government $44.1 billion this year, but will jump to $53.7 billion in the two years to 2022 – a huge drain on the Budget.
Meanwhile spending on aged care is at $66.7 billion and will climb to $77 billion by 2021-22.
