Anglicare invests $70M in co-located ‘Inside Out’ village and aged care for western Sydney

In a first for the Not For Profit, the new development in Rooty Hill, 42km west of the CBD, will be an Inside-Out” village with retail outlets, Anglicare welfare services and other facilities available to residents and the public.

The new development will include 160 retirement living units available for lease, with a significant number reserved for affordable rentals, as well as a 90-room residential aged care home.

“This represents a new direction in construction and village development for us. Seniors will not only remain connected to the community and its services, but also have easy access to shops and services without the need for transport,” CEO Grant Millard said.

Anglicare says the new village will cater for the area’s growing older cohort – 18% of the population in Rooty Hill and Mount Druitt is over 60, but there is only one retirement village within a 7km radius.
