Ansell Strategic says mergers and acquisitions increasing – but buyers “very cautious and price sensitive” in uncertain market

The advisory firm has warned buyers and sellers the environment is very different from the Second Wave of investment from 2013 to 2017 where providers looked to quickly acquire facilities and achieved record prices before the Federal Government slashed the aged care budget in 2016.

“Today, some providers are divesting because of the inherent uncertainty facing the sector. Others are driven to leave because of financial pressures, and fewer buyers are active,” Managing Director Cam Ansell (pictured) says.
