Benetas looks for consumer input to improve services

1 min read

Not For Profit aged care provider Benetas is seeking consumer input into how it can improve its services with the launch of its Consumer Participation Register.

The Register aims to capture the views of a diverse group of Australians to ensure its care and services meet as broad a range of needs as possible.

According to Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM, it is important for the provider to understand and listen to the needs of consumers, their families, and carers.

“Seeking and responding to consumers is a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, and forms a central part of the Charter of Aged Care Rights, and Aged Care Quality Standards 1 and 8.

“We want people to be involved and have a greater say in the way our services provide for their needs and quality of life,” she said.

Ms Hills says Benetas is looking to gain consumer involvement and co-design in at least 10 projects in the first year, with one already underway.

“We are ready for more people to sign up – people who have a passion to contribute to the development of aged care services and who care about older Victorians,” she said.

Interested parties – who do not need to be Benetas customers – can sign up online.
