Bethanie recognised in WA Excellence in Age Services Awards

We have already covered this win in The Daily Commission as part of our ‘Innovation’ series but feel this is worth mentioning here because of the uniqueness of the project.

The WA-based Not For Profit aged care and retirement living provider has taken out the ‘Team Award’ at the LASA Excellence in Age Services Awards inaugural WA State Conference in Perth for the achievements of its Nurse Leaders Project Team in creating a state-first staff educational program – the Bethanie Nurse Leader Programme.

Developed across 2018, the program focused specifically on equipping 17 Bethanie nurses with the skills they need to improve residents’ experience and clinical practice in aged care.

It used an innovative learning design structure that combined face-to-face seminars with workplace projects, reflective practice and online learning to assist the participating nurses in developing their own customer-centred innovations to be used at their aged care homes.

Learn more about the project here.

Each of the state winners from the LASA awards will progress to the national awards to be presented at LASA’s National Congress on 27-29 October 2019.
