Caring for rural communities: Federal Govt foots $9.36M annual running costs for new Signature Care facility in regional NSW

1 min read

Minister for Aged Care Ken Wyatt has visited the site of the $35 million 144-bed aged care facility in Grafton, which is being built on land purchased for $2.2 million from the Grafton Golf Club.

$6.5 million of the funding will go towards wages – a key cost for regional providers struggling to attract staff.

Grafton was identified as having a high need for more residential places in the 2016-17 Aged Care Approvals Round, with funding awarded to Signature Care for 108 aged care beds and a 36-bed dementia support unit.
