‘This must be classified along with the …choir from King’s College in
Cambridge.’ Le Figaro, Paris
Placed alongside the Vienna Boys Choir and that of Kings College, Cambridge as
one of the finest in Europe, the Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir is renowned for
its intense performances of profoundly beautiful music. This superb choir performs
for the Danish Royal Family’s major festivities, recently at the wedding of Crown
Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and at the baptism of
Prince Christian and Princess Isabella.
Performing one concert only, the program features Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony
of Carols which was written for the choir and performed under the baton of Britten
himself, as well as works by Tallis, Schütz, Tchaikovsky and Mikkelborg.
