Department of Health begins publishing COVID-19 recovery tally again – aged care staff swabbed to ensure they have recovered

1 min read

The Department had stopped publishing the national coronavirus recovery tally for over a month, but the information is now available again on their website here.

As you can see above, 3,338 people have now recovered from COVID-19 – around 53% of the official number of infections in Australia.

Australia had reported recoveries during February and March when there were fewer than 100 cases nationally but this dropped off as the cases grew.

However, only health and aged care workers are swab-tested to confirm they have recovered from coronavirus.

Other cases are deemed to be recovered if they have been symptom-free for 72 hours and 10 days have passed since their first symptoms.

A sign perhaps of new cases being the priority for testing.
