1 min read

Glenys Beauchamp PSM (pictured) has taken leave effective from last Friday ahead of her retirement from the position she has occupied since September 2017 on 28 February 2020.

Ms Beauchamp served for 21 years in the Australian Public Service, including nine years at Secretary level and 13 years in the ACT Public Service, receiving the Public Service Medal in 2010 for coordinating the Government’s response to the 2009 Victorian bushfires.

Last year, the former Secretary made three appearances at hearings for the Royal Commission into Aged Care where she sparred with the Counsel Assisting team over a number of Departmental decisions including taking on the recommendations of the Aged Care Workforce Taskforce report led by Professor John Pollaers.

The current Chief Medical Officer, Professor Brendan Murphy, has already been recommended as her successor.
