Earle Haven loses nursing home licence but retirement village doing well

1 min read

Arthur Miller, owner of the Earle Haven retirement village and nursing home, has told the ABC that his care facility license has been cancelled.

"They have revoked our licence, we cannot even sell our licence to somebody else, we cannot operate the aged care [facility] anymore … so our business is completely gone."

Miller claimed he had lost a $1M in the closure but his retirement village continues to trade well.

"We are the cheapest retirement village in Australia. We provide a lot of services. We have a restaurant that provides more than 20,000 meals a month, so we have other businesses outside of the high care”.

"The high care is a small business, just 89 beds."
