Heather Witham leaves ACSA for Victorian Healthcare Association

1 min read

The aged care peak’s strategically important National Government Relations Manager has left after eight years to take up a new role at the Victorian Healthcare Association handling Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy for the government-owned and operated aged care services.

Previously a ministerial adviser to state and federal government on aged care and disability, Heather will be kept busy.

Victoria’s Labor Government is the only state in Australia which has been expanding its government-run aged care services in the aftermath of the Oakden scandal in SA in 2017. They now have 10% of the state’s aged care facilities and support 5,500 residents.

As we have previously reported, Premier Daniel Andrews is committed to aged care and has also pledged a number of new facilities in the lead-up to last year’s state election.
