With news that some home care providers are charging exit fees of up to $4,000, KinCare’s CEO Brian Bissaker said they are taking a stand by not charging joining, upgrade or exit fees.
“It’s hitting our most vulnerable the hardest, at a time when they are supposed to have greater choice in selecting a care provider for the first time,” Mr Bissaker said.
Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA) CEO Pat Sparrow says the average exit fee is about $417, and comes out of the unused portion of the home care package.
