Home care provider Annecto directs clients to new providers as doors close

1 min read

After announcing last week that it will cease providing services to more than 3,000 clients by July 2025, aged care and disability services provider Annecto has written to clients to formally advise them of the decision and outline the next steps in the transition process.

“We have made the difficult but necessary decision to cease delivering aged care and disability services,” the letter reads. “While this marks a sad time for all of us at Annecto, this course of action ensures that the current services you receive can continue to be delivered by another provider into the future.”

Annecto is working with established providers to ensure continuity of care, with clients advised that:

  • In NSW and the ACT, Uniting Care will take over Home Care Package (HCP) services

  • In Victoria, Uniting AgeWell will assume responsibility

  • In Queensland, Anglicare Southern Queensland will step in

Clients may opt to choose an alternative provider but must notify Annecto by 24 June, less than two weeks after receiving the letter.

Information sessions are being arranged to help clients understand the transfer and meet their new providers. Annecto has also indicated that support workers may be offered continued employment with the new organisations.

No new provider has yet been identified for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) clients. Annecto says it will be in touch once the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing finalises new arrangements.

Annecto had expanded in recent years by absorbing CHSP clients from local councils exiting service delivery. In 2023, it took on clients from Buloke Shire Council and Mildura Council.
