How many cases of coronavirus are there currently in Australia?

As of 6am 13 April 2020, there were 6,322 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Australia – a rise of 33 new cases from 3pm the previous day – according to the Department of Health.

There have now been 61 deaths in Australia because of the virus, with more than 356,000 people tested nationally.

In residential care, 26 cases have now been confirmed with nine deaths recorded among aged care residents. For home care, the tally now stands at 17 cases and one death.

Around the world, the rate of confirmed cases continues to increase with 1.85 million people now diagnosed and over 114,000 deaths recorded, Johns Hopkins reports.
