How many cases of coronavirus are there currently in Australia?

As of 3pm 3 April 2020, there were 5,350 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Australia – a rise of 217 cases (again lower) from 3pm the previous day – the Department of Health reports.

26 deaths have now been recorded in Australia with over 275,000 people tested nationally.

As at 11am on Friday, 51 care recipients and staff in 25 aged care services have been confirmed with COVID-19 in NSW, QLD, WA, SA, Tasmania and Victoria.

Overseas, the outlook is grimmer with over one million cases now confirmed and more than 53,000 deaths, the data from Johns Hopkins shows.
