How to Improve your Statistical and Site Performance

Our sales team is often asked, what are the best ways to increase traffic from villages.com.au to our website? Here are top five tips to make your listing sing.
1. “A picture is worth a thousand words” How compelling and interesting are your pictures? Are they in the right order?! It can be an artificial saving not to have some good photos of the village. Load all 10 if you have them. If not book a photographer. Here’s a good example.

5. Write copy that is both compelling and has a sense of excitement about the features and benefits of your village. There are many, tell everyone about them. Hold the corporate information for the ‘Village Operator’ section.
6. The ‘Visit website’ link is a great way to drive traffic to your village rather than your corporate home page (this may also improve the quality of your own internal stats). Don’t ask your visitors to start the search again, send them straight to the village they’re interested in.
7. Enter as much information into the villages.com.au list as possible, don’t leave a customer guessing. If you have a Pet Policy, tell them what it is.
5 most common reasons for poor site performance
1. No photos. Incredibly, we find a Premium Listing without photos at least once a week!
2. Poor quality, poorly sized photos that show everything but the village are no use to you, or your potential customers. Don’t load 2 or 3 photos when you can load 10.
3. Incorrect details are not a good look. The most common error is a wrong phone number.
4. Village information is incomplete; often a listing is missing a link to your website. It takes no more than 15 minutes to set up a full listing with details, information and photos.
5. Lack of attention. It’s worth checking your statistics once a month to see how the listing is performing. While there, take a quick look to ensure everything is still up to date. Contact us if you need assistance.
