The DCM Group has confirmed that James Wiltshire will succeed Chris Baynes as CEO, in a move that signals continuity and a clear focus on what comes next for the Group.

Chris will step into the role of Executive Director & Founder, committing to leading a new consumer and seniors business, Monday Club.

With more than two decades’ operational experience in retirement living and aged care, James joined DCM Group in 2022 to lead the DCM Institute, building its professional development offering into a nationally recognised platform.

He has since played a key role across The Weekly SOURCE, the sector’s leading source of industry knowledge, alongside launching DCM Executive Recruitment and leading the Group’s Plan T initiative, advocating for system-wide aged care productivity reform.

As CEO, James will continue that work while driving growth across DCM’s core businesses:

The timing of this succession has been deliberately planned.

The business of ageing is entering a defining decade. Demand is rising. Supply remains constrained. The lines between retirement living, aged care and home care continue to blur.

The need for deep sector knowledge and experience, national coverage and collegiate connection has never been greater.

James brings this to the leadership of DCM while Chris continues his 20-plus leadership with the expanding business.

Chris Baynes moves to launch Monday Club

Chris’ next move opens a complementary front – a consumer-facing business branded Monday Club

Launched in Balmain last week, Monday Club is the culmination of many years of learning across retirement living and aged care. It is a virtual village, delivering a prevention strategy for people aged from 50 to 100 years, with a focus on good ageing.

Monday Club is a Strength Club, Social Club, Support Club and Virtual Village, rolled into one.

DCM Group Founders Jill and Chris Baynes

Monday Club has been 10 years in the making for Chris and his wife Jill – who have been strong advocates not just for the retirement and aged care sector, but also for wellbeing and being proactive as you age.

A deliberate balance

DCM continues to operate at a national level – informing, interpreting and connecting the sector, led by James.

Monday Club moves to the local level, focused on how wellbeing is experienced, day to day. Led by Chris.

Together, the moves reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to the sector and to Australians on the ageing journey.
