- Remote solution: Homes support culturally appropriate care in the Kimberley
- Support: Project delivered with Traditional Owner and Federal Government
The Not For Profit aged care operator has opened new staff accommodation in Fitzroy Crossing, 2,500km north of Perth.
The 11 modular homes are adjacent to the Guwardi Ngadu Residential Aged Care Home, and address the acute housing shortage in the town with a population of 1,022.
The project was funded through the Federal Government's National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Services Program.

The project comprises of eight one-bedroom and three two-bedroom modular units, and was built on land leased from the Aboriginal Lands Trust and Bunuba Dawangarri Aboriginal Corporation.
The modular homes were constructed in Perth by Trigon Projects and transported to Fitzroy Crossing in mid-2025. Local tradespeople handled site preparation and installation of essential services.

"We are delighted to celebrate the opening of accommodation to support and sustain our staff," said Juniper CEO Russell Bricknell. The project will help the operator continue to deliver culturally appropriate aged care in West Kimberley.
“Permanent, quality staff accommodation is vital in remote areas to help us attract and retain highly skilled aged care workers," Russell said.
Last month we reported Juniper acquired one of a handful of standalone aged care operators in WA, Esperance Aged Care Facility, 720km southeast of Perth. The home has 104 residential aged care beds and 16 independent living retirement units.
