Just five days left to have your say on the relationship between Government and aged care providers – no guarantee of a hearing because of COVID-19

A reminder that submissions to the Royal Commission on how the roles of the Government, providers and consumers could be redefined are due by Monday 13 July.

As we covered here, the Commissioners issued a call out for submissions on system governance, market management and the allocation and clarification of roles and responsibilities on 22 June.

This includes responses on market management – managing new and existing markets for aged care services across Australia – and commissioning/tendering – how providers could be approved for services, ranging from “self-selection” to open tenders and how this could be achieved.

The Commissioners also cautioned that because of the pandemic – and the 12 November deadline for their Final Report – they may not hold a public hearing on these issues – so this really is your only opportunity to have a say.

You can read the full criteria for submissions here and email submissions to ACRCSystemGovernance@royalcommission.gov.au.
