New Zealand’s second largest retirement village operator Summerset Group, which will open its first building in Melbourne next year, has been named Aged Advisor’s Best Provider Nationwide in the 2021 ‘Peoples’ Choice Awards’ for Best Retirement or Lifestyle Villages & Aged Care Facilities.
“It’s a great validation of the quality of service and care that we provide in giving our residents the best of life,” said Summerset Group CEO Scott Scoullar (pictured). “I offer my sincere thanks to Aged Advisor and everyone who gave enthusiastic reviews of our villages through that service.”
Last month Summerset Group announced it had paid just over $33 million for its fifth site in Victoria. The 1.83ha site is at Oakleigh South, 17km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD.
“Summerset prides itself on offering a continuum of care model whereby as a resident’s needs change, so can their living arrangements. We’re looking forward to bringing this model of care and high-quality retirement living to Australians,” said Mr Scoullar at the time.
Summerset Group, which posted its best half-year results in the company’s history in July, received consent to start building on the first site it purchased, in Cranbourne North, 39km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, in September.
