New aged care entrant to turn nine-storey Ipswich hotel into 99-bed aged care facility

1 min read

Queensland-based Oracle Care wants to remodel the upmarket Metro Hotel in Ipswich, 45km from Brisbane, into a 79-room aged care home.

The hotel’s café, bar and restaurant, wellness centre, beauty salon and function areas would be kept and be open to both residents and the public.

Oracle Care is a new operator, but already has a busy development pipeline. They are currently developing four aged care facilities: three in Goodna, Kalkie and Highfields in QLD and Kwinana in WA.

Of course, redeveloping hotels into aged care is not a first for the sector. As we reported here, Oryx Communities is currently transforming the Richardson Hotel in West Perth into a luxury facility.
