New thinking in retirement village business models – Paul Browne passionately explains why his village membership will replace the DMF

1 min read

If you are involved in retirement villages you must watch this video from our LEADERS SUMMIT two weeks ago, featuring Paul Browne, the co-founder of LDK Healthcare.

Paul is a ‘boots and all’ retirement village operator; he also describes himself as a ‘disruptor’.

This is fair given his pioneering work developing private aged care under the retirement village model over the past 15 years.

In his presentation he reviewed his new ‘LDK membership model’, replacing the DMF. In essence this is assisted living with a unique financial and services offering.

Paul is on the ground ‘selling’ his new model to existing residents of the prestigious The Landings village that he has jointly acquired for $60M+ and tells us he is getting a 95% take-up.

In Canberra he is doing the same with his 400-unit village redevelopment in partnership with Cromwell Property.

The video is 11.45 minutes long – an exceptional investment of your time.
