North Bundaberg’s 487 home RV land lease village incentivised for fast start

The RV Lifestyle Village Oceanside project was officially opened this past weekend after a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The resort-style village, located just outside Bundaberg in Burnett Heads, will have 487 sites upon its completion.

Bundaberg Region Mayor Jack Dempsey said the RV land lease village was just what the region needed, claiming Bundaberg was the RV capital of Australia, The Chronicle reported.

He said since 2015 the number of registered campervans in the area had grown from 4,450 to 5,200, roughly 7 registrations for every 100 residences.

Cr Dempsey said the completion of the project was being incentivised because infrastructure charges would be reduced if half of the development was completed by June of 2024.

“This means that up to 133 units on the site could be incentivised if completed by the due date,” he said.

The incentive program is part of the Bundaberg Open for Development scheme which aims to make it easier for developers to work with Council and stimulate development activity.
