Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) set to open $56M luxury retirement village development in Penrith

Called Thornton Park, the development will include 48 one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments designed by architects Calder Flower in Penrith, 50km west of the Sydney CBD, close to its railway and shopping precinct.

SCC CEO Helen Emmerson says they have thrown out “the cookie cutter” on this village. “We’re literally redesigning the Australian neighbourhood to cater to older people who are planning on living their lives in creative, meaningful and contributing ways.”

Residents will have access to a range of optional bespoke services including housekeeping, cooking, laundry, shopping, running errands, transport, dog walking and grooming and car cleaning. A 100-bed aged care facility is also planned for the site.

Member benefits also include access to a full-time concierge, onsite health services and APT travel and cruise discounts.
