Residents hire planning consultants to fight $24M Lendlease aged care redevelopment in VIC

1 min read

The new wave of consumer advocacy: local news is reporting objections have been lodged and a petition signed against the two-storey 180-room aged care facility adjoining its existing Martha’s Point and Koorootang retirement villages at Mt Martha, 60km southeast of the Melbourne CBD.

Lendlease wants to re-subdivide the two existing lots into two new lots for the facility and nearby houses would back onto the development.

The advocacy planning consultants hired by residents says the “constraints of the proposed site … will result in detrimental amenity impacts to our clients and the wider Mt Martha community”.

They add the building will be visible from backyards and traffic will increase “in peak visitor periods”.

Another case of residents going the extra mile to ensure developments are not in their backyards.
