Resthaven to start the redevelopment of its Bellevue Heights RAC in Adelaide

1 min read

The South Australian Not For Profit provider associated with the Uniting Church in Australia, has held a ‘turn the turf’ ceremony to officially mark the beginning of the $25 million site redevelopment of its Bellevue Heights RAC.

Resthaven also has sought to rebuild its 121-bed Westbourne Park residential aged care home for $30 million, The Weekly Source reported in July.

Emmet O’Donovan, Manager Building & Capital Projects, said the redevelopment by Sarah Constructions includes the replacement of 32 rooms which were constructed in the late 1970s. In addition to these new rooms, all the remaining rooms will be refurbished.

When the project is finalised, all accommodation will be under the one roof, making it easier for all residents to access new and improved communal areas and services. The maximum number of residents accommodated at the site will remain the same at 99.

The ‘first sod’ was turned by Resthaven Deputy Board President, Ben Sarre, and Manager Residential Services, Mandy Micallef (pictured).
