Royal Commission reveals focus for next Adelaide hearing – mental health, oral health and allied health care

The Royal Commission has announced its fifth hearing will be held in Adelaide from Monday 30 March 2020 to Wednesday 1 April 2020 and examine how mental health, oral health and allied health care could be improved for people accessing aged care services, including through:

  • increased funding and/or alternative funding models
  • incentives for health care professionals to provide services at an individual’s place of residence
  • increased training for aged care workers
  • clarifying responsibilities of approved providers and implementing performance measures or performance indicators.

If you believe you have a direct interest in the issues that will be explored in this hearing, you can make an application for leave to appear by 5pm (ACST) on Wednesday 18 March 2020 here.

I will be at the hearing to report on the latest news.
