The 92-year-old woman died late yesterday morning at the home in Kingswood in Western Sydney after testing positive for COVID-19, following the deaths of two male residents at the weekend.

While the cause of death has yet to be formally determined, the woman has “multiple health issues” according to Anglicare.

Anglicare Sydney’s CEO Grant Millard said:

“I have spoken personally to the immediate family of the resident to convey our deepest sympathies.”

"This is a very sad time not only for the immediate family but also for other residents and staff.”

41 residents and staff have now tested positive to COVID-19 at the home since the first case of an infected staff member was identified on 11 April – 12 days ago – but no new cases have been recorded in the past two days.

Anglicare says it will continue testing all residents and staff until there are no further positive results.

Nepean Hospital and NSW Health have also established a Hospital in the Home program at the home to support residents who have tested positive with access to hospital resources and oversight by hospital specialists in infectious diseases.
