QLD: Heathley plans 600-bed investment in Toowong in face of local complaints

1 min read

The Courier-Mail is reporting the Sydney-based investment group is buying a 50% stake in the Pikos development of the heritage-listed Goldicott House at Toowong, 7km from the Brisbane CBD.

Pikos is seeking approval for 600 aged care beds for the site.

The media reports Heathley intends to sell “at an uplifted value” the aged care component with a lease agreement (assumedly a REIT arrangement).

Goldicott House was built in 1885 by Charles Depree, the first using a form of concrete construction which Depree had patented.

The house will be retained under the plan.
