St John’s Rise, a co-located Benetas retirement village at Mooroolbark in Melbourne’s northeast, has welcomed its first residents.

The 131-unit village, adjacent to the operator’s St John’s Park aged care home, was first announced in 2020; at the time, Benetas’ General Manager of Strategy, Infrastructure and Housing, Bruce Webb, said it was part of the operator’s continuum of care strategy.

“Our services extend from retirement living through to health care services, home care services, respite care and residential aged care for those with higher needs, allowing our clients the chance to work with one provider throughout their ageing journey.

“This model is about supporting older Victorians to be able to age in place with peace of mind that their care, home and community needs will be supported at all stages of their life,” he said.

The first stage, now open, comprises 46 units in seven different house designs, all sold off-the-plan. Options range from one-bedroom, one-bathroom to three-bedroom, two-bathroom units.

Communal amenities will include community centre, snooker room, indoor heated pool, café, media room, gym, salon, and resident workshop.
