Total Construction completes $40M Advantaged Care home in Western Sydney – with no delay due to COVID

The construction company has wrapped up the 18-month Stage 1 construction of the family-run operator’s fifth home, which was designed by award-winning architects Integrated Design Group, with interior design by Turner Studio.

The 139-bed home features single rooms with oversized ensuites as well as companions’ suites for couples that include a kitchenette. Each community also shares a dining room, lounges and a kitchen.

Other features include a cinema, beauty salon, hairdresser, café (pictured below), private dining rooms for residents to host guests and wellness spaces, with the outside home to gardens and terraces, a children’s play area, a vegetable garden and a men’s purpose-built shed.

With over 25 years’ experience working with aged care and retirement living providers, Total Construction’s Managing Director, Steve Taylor, says they take time to educate their teams on how the built environment can impact the lives of the residents, the staff and the families.

“It’s crucial throughout the lifecycle of an aged care development, more than any other that first and foremost, we remember that this is going to be someone’s home. Everything we look at is through that lens. Creating innovative design outcomes for our clients is a culture embedded across the whole organisation – it’s what drives us.”
