Patrick McClure, the CEO of the Retirement Villages Group (RVG), which is jointly managed
by Macquarie and FKP, has headed up the wholesale, unlisted fund since 2006.
RVG today owns and operates 53 mature retirement villages across Australia and New
Zealand, with over 6600 units under management and a development pipeline of almost
2500 units. In Australia, the RVG villages are operated by FKP under the Aveo brand.
Patrick has over 20 years’ experience in executive management roles within community and
public sector organisations. Prior to joining Macquarie, he spent 10 years as CEO of Mission
Australia where he transformed the state-based entity into a highly successful international
organisation.
As CEO of RVG Patrick has a deep commitment to the delivery of high quality services and
facilities to the 1000s of residents in villages in which RVG invests. Formerly a Franciscan
priest, Patrick has dedicated his career to addressing social policy issues and providing
quality programs for disadvantaged people in the community.
Some of his career achievements include being chairperson of the Federal Government’s
Reference Group on Welfare Reform from 2000-01, chairperson of the OECD-LEED Forum
on Social Innovation in Paris from 2003-2006 and receiving an Order of Australia (AO) for his
services to the community in 2003. In 2005 Patrick was selected as one of Australia’s 25 True
Leaders by AFR BOSS magazine.
Patrick will address the changing landscape and operational challenges for retirement
villages in Australia and New Zealand at the Retirement Communities World Australasia 2008
conference in Sydney on 7-10 April.
