The WA Government has launched a new plan to tackle the housing needs that come with a rapidly ageing population - focused on retirement living.
The plan, Ageing with Choice, is designed to help older Western Australians, particularly those on low to moderate incomes, keep a foot in the door of affordable homes in their communities and avoid social isolation.
The number of WA residents aged 65 or over is set to grow by 40 per cent to more than 500,000 by 2026
Ageing with Choice will also shape the development of the next WA Housing Strategy 2020-2030.
