WA provider Hall & Prior reveals plans for $60M health and aged care precinct on former hospital site – joint venture with institutional investor

As we covered here, the private provider and WA superannuation fund Fresh Fields Projects paid $13 million for the heritage-listed site former Woodside Maternity Hospital in East Fremantle, 18km from the CBD, in October last year.

Hall & Prior wants to redevelop the 1ha site with 125 aged care beds as well as specialist palliative, dementia, disability and young disability care services.

WA has had a shortage of 2,000 aged care beds for the last 10 to 15 years and Hall & Prior, which has 24 aged care facilities across WA and NSW, says it is looking to address this imbalance.

Chief executive Graeme Prior says that they are investing $300 million in health and aged care developments over the next four years to provide an extra 450 beds including their $90 million flagship Karingal Green health and aged care precinct at High Wycombe.
