WA: SwanCare completes its flagship aged care home in Perth

1 min read

A sign that business is still going on in spite of COVID-19.

The Not For Profit’s Ningana four-storey, 124-bed aged care home in Bentley, 8km southeast of the Perth CBD, is ready to open its doors – 15 months after the operator said the site would “set a new benchmark in aged care”.

Designed by the award-winning Cameron Chisholm Nicol (CCN), the architects behind Perth Arena and the State’s Advisor for Optus Stadium, rooms are designed to feel like homes in a street, with indoor gardens, resident-use kitchens, reading nooks, lounge spaces and an enclosed fireplace on each level has been included.

Staff also have access to ‘hidden’ operational corridors to keep nursing and laundry services ‘behind the scenes’.

SwanCare Ningana will offer three types of rooms that can be adapted to single or couples – silver, gold and platinum suites – with Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RADs) ranging from $575,000 to $695,000.

The new building is the operator’s fourth aged care home within its Bentley Park site, which is WA’s largest aged care and retirement campus with over 1,000 residents, three aged care facilities, one retirement village and the SwanCare At Home service.

SwanCare also operates the Australind Rise retirement village one-and-a-half hours from Perth.
