The letter from Senator Richard Colbeck (pictured here meeting aged care staff during the recent bushfire crisis) – to be distributed via service providers and union groups over the coming days – is the second round of praise for aged care staff to come from the Government in the past three days after Greg Hunt’s recent comments (see Tuesday’s issue).
“Our Aged Care workers continue to do an exceptional job in very challenging circumstances and they play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of older Australians,” the Minister said.
“The efforts of our Aged Care workers are critical in slowing the spread of COVID-19 and it is important that their contribution is recognised.”
