Aveo wins approval to expand Robertson Park village

  • Approval secured: 105 new ILUs across three stages
  • Scale grows: Adds to 104 recently redeveloped apartments
  • Urban infill: Four-storey design within low-density zone
  • Demand driver: Supports downsizing in established suburbs

The retirement village operator, owned by The Living Company, has been given the green light to expand its portfolio.

Brisbane City Council has approved a development comprising three stages of four-storey apartment buildings and a total of 105 independent living units at its Robertson Park village, 14km southeast of the Brisbane CBD.

This latest approval is in addition to a recent redevelopment of the site for 104 independent living units which are now nearing completion.

“This approval represents a significant increase to the supply of retirement homes in southern Brisbane,” said Development Directive, who put through the development application through Council for Aveo.

Aveo’s Robertson Park Retirement Village

“Aveo Robertson Park delivers on the vision of the South East Queensland Regional Plan (Shaping SEQ) to facilitate retirees downsizing in their own neighbourhoods. The development, whilst achieving four storeys in a low density residential zone, has been designed to incorporate sensitive transitions to external boundaries.”

First established in 1987, Aveo Robertson Park had undertaken a $60 million redevelopment consisting of almost 1,000sqm community recreational areas and Independent Living Apartments.

The new facilities included lounge and dining areas, gourmet community kitchen, bar, beauty and hairdressing salon, gymnasium, library, swimming pool, landscaped communal gardens and 34 apartments.

Robertson Park is also home to one-, two- and three-bedroom villas.
