Talk about forward planning.
Queensland Deputy Premier Dr Steven Miles has announced the site for the Athletes Village for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In announcing Brisbane’s riverfront lifestyle precinct Northshore Hamilton as the site, Dr Miles added that it would have a further life beyond the Olympics.
Post the Olympic Games in Brisbane in 2032 Dr Miles said the site will deliver a diverse residential offering, including aged care, retirement living social and affordable housing, key worker, hotel, build-to-rent and market accommodation.
“Our Athletes’ Village will be on Economic Development Queensland-owned land within the Northshore Hamilton Priority Development Area (PDA),” he said.
“The legacy of the Village precinct is already incredibly important.”
Let’s remember this and hold Dr Miles to account.
